With three bedrooms, sleeping 8 in total, the house is perfect for those who appreciate modern, sustainable design, and relaxing creature comforts. BARBERA COUNTRY

The Monferrato region is a foodie’s paradise, well known for its white truffles, wild boar, fresh pasta and Nutella as well as glorious wine (Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera, Nebiolo and Moscato). Bra and Alba, the home of the Slow Food Movement are a short 30 minute drive away. Meanwhile the property is located in Mombercelli, one of the key centres for white truffles.

  1. Dear Jo
just back from my beloved Italy and your lovely house.
We are four friends, Eva, Ola, Erland and Mia, who enjoys cooking together and your kitchen was perfect for that. Everybody could stay there, cooking, chatting and drinking a glass of wine waiting for the pasta al sugo to be served, and ending the evening close to the fireplace trying to reshape a world that suddenly seemed so far away….
The garden is lovely: the different shades of green give a relaxing feeling and the view from the grill place, fantastic.
A quiet place, where you can sense and absorbe the energy and love of the people who build it.
    I recommend it.
    Mia-Maria

  2. We had a wonderful week in Mombercelli at the Cascina del Forno. We shall never forget the moment when we opened the gates and stared in astonishment across the courtyard garden to the deep-sided valley and the distant line of hills. We found the accommodation to be both stylish and comfortable. We enjoyed exploring the local countryside and the picturesque villages and towns nearby. We probably ate too much delicious Italian food and drank too much good Italian wine, but that’s almost inevitable in Mombercelli! We can thoroughly recommend a stay at the Cascina del Forno.

  3. Cascina del Forno is truly a gem hidden in the hills of Piedmont. We spent a week here with friends and we felt that we truly had a taste of the real Italy, away from the crowds and the well worn paths of so much of the rest of the country. Our party consisted of two couples and the layout of this home was very conducive for all of us, very private and quiet. The home is well appointed and had everything we needed. It’s clear the owners put a lot of thought and care into its design and construction (restoration). The personal touches were all so creative, truly giving you the feeling that you were staying at a family home. Not over done, just enough to show that this is a well cared for, loved home. The location of the home was gorgeous. Sitting off of a very quiet road in the hills overlooking Mombercelli and the surrounding hill side communities with spectacular views of the views of the Alps in the distance when the weather permitted . There was easy access to cafés, groceries and no shortage of fabulous restaurants within a 10 minute drive; not to mention the proximity to some of the most fabulous wineries in the world. The worst part of Cascina del Forno was having to leave it!

  4. A wonderful villa in a beautiful location. Thoroughly recommended as a place for a relaxing holiday. The food and wine in the area are excellent and the villa is very well equipped.Heartily recommended.
